What makes it different.
Ocular IQ Home Solar is an Australian-designed home charger with solar-aware charging, load management, multi-user support and a built-in display. It has three modes: Fast, Solar Assist and Solar Only.
How it works, simply: a smart charger measures what your solar is producing and what your home is using, then adjusts the car's charging current so it soaks up surplus solar rather than exporting it.
It suits households with more than one driver that want a locally supported solar-smart charger, in 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase versions.
For Queensland conditions: the manufacturer specifies an operating range of -30 ºC to 50 ºC, and its enclosure rating is IP 54. In hot climates many systems reduce output at the top of their range, so we install out of direct afternoon sun with clearance for airflow wherever possible.

The manufacturer warranty is 2 years. Terms may require product registration. We register it for you.
Can the IQ Solar be installed outside?
The manufacturer lists IP 54. In Queensland we still avoid direct afternoon sun where possible, because heat can reduce performance, and we'll recommend the best spot during the site visit.
How fast will it charge my car?
Charge speed is limited by the charger, your supply (single- or three-phase) and your car's onboard charger, whichever is lowest. We'll check all three.
