What makes it different.

Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 is simple, reliable and good value. It charges any recent EV with a Type 2 inlet at up to 7 kW single-phase or 22 kW three-phase, with a 7.3 m tethered cable and Wi-Fi scheduling. It can't follow solar surplus on its own without a Powerwall.

How it works, simply: a smart charger measures what your solar is producing and what your home is using, then adjusts the car's charging current so it soaks up surplus solar rather than exporting it.

It suits Tesla and non-Tesla drivers who want a straightforward fast charger, and Powerwall owners.

For Queensland conditions: the manufacturer specifies an operating range of -30 °C to 50 °C, and its enclosure rating is IP 55. In hot climates many systems reduce output at the top of their range, so we install out of direct afternoon sun with clearance for airflow wherever possible.

Why we install it.

  1. Up to 22 kW

On a three-phase supply, subject to the car's onboard charger.

  2. 7.3 m cable

Long enough to reach most driveways.

  3. Wi-Fi

    Scheduling and firmware updates.

  4. Pairs with Powerwall

Solar-aware charging through the Tesla ecosystem.

Ask a question →

What warranty does the Tesla Wall Connector Gen 3 have?

The manufacturer warranty is 4 years. Terms may require product registration. We register it for you.

Can the Wall Connector Gen 3 be installed outside?

The manufacturer lists IP 55. In Queensland we still avoid direct afternoon sun where possible, because heat can reduce performance, and we'll recommend the best spot during the site visit.

How fast will it charge my car?

Charge speed is limited by the charger, your supply (single- or three-phase) and your car's onboard charger, whichever is lowest. We'll check all three.
