What makes it different.
The Fox ESS H1 G2 is a compact single-phase hybrid inverter with backup. It's designed to pair with Fox ESS batteries and EV chargers and to be controlled in one FoxCloud app.
How it works, simply: a hybrid inverter converts DC power from your panels into AC power for your home, and also manages a battery on the same unit. It decides moment to moment whether solar goes to the house, the battery or the grid.
It suits value-focused homes adding a battery that want a single app for the whole system.
For Queensland conditions: the manufacturer specifies an operating range of -25 to +60°C, and its enclosure rating is IP 65. In hot climates many systems reduce output at the top of their range, so we install out of direct afternoon sun with clearance for airflow wherever possible.

Can the H1 G2 be installed outside?
The manufacturer lists IP 65. In Queensland we still avoid direct afternoon sun where possible, because heat can reduce performance, and we'll recommend the best spot during the site visit.
