What makes it different.
The SG-RS is Sungrow's fan-free single-phase string inverter, with three MPPTs for roofs facing several directions. It's a long-time Australian best-seller, monitored through iSolarCloud.
How it works, simply: the inverter converts DC power from your panels into the AC power your home uses. MPPTs (maximum power point trackers) let panels on different roof faces each work at their best.
It suits solar-only homes that want proven reliability at a good price. If you add a battery later, it can be AC-coupled.
For Queensland conditions: the manufacturer specifies an operating range of -25℃ to 60℃, and its enclosure rating is IP65. In hot climates many systems reduce output at the top of their range, so we install out of direct afternoon sun with clearance for airflow wherever possible.

What warranty does the Sungrow SG-RS string have?
The manufacturer warranty is 10 years. Terms may require product registration. We register it for you.
Can the SG-RS string be installed outside?
The manufacturer lists IP65. In Queensland we still avoid direct afternoon sun where possible, because heat can reduce performance, and we'll recommend the best spot during the site visit.
