What makes it different.
Enphase IQ8AC microinverters mount under each panel and convert DC to AC right there, so there's no high-voltage DC running across your roof. One shaded or failed panel doesn't affect the others, and each unit is rated at up to 360 W.
How it works, simply: the inverter converts DC power from your panels into the AC power your home uses. MPPTs (maximum power point trackers) let panels on different roof faces each work at their best.
It suits shaded roofs, roofs with many orientations, and owners who want the longest warranty on the market: 25 years per SolarQuotes data. Add storage with an AC-coupled IQ Battery.
For Queensland conditions: the manufacturer specifies an operating range of -40ºC to +65ºC, and its enclosure rating is IP 67. In hot climates many systems reduce output at the top of their range, so we install out of direct afternoon sun with clearance for airflow wherever possible.

The manufacturer lists IP 67. In Queensland we still avoid direct afternoon sun where possible, because heat can reduce performance, and we'll recommend the best spot during the site visit.
