What makes it different.
The Solis S5 is a no-nonsense single-phase string inverter with passive cooling and a 10-year warranty, sold at a budget-friendly price.
How it works, simply: the inverter converts DC power from your panels into the AC power your home uses. MPPTs (maximum power point trackers) let panels on different roof faces each work at their best.
It suits cost-focused solar-only installs where simplicity matters most.
For Queensland conditions: the manufacturer specifies an operating range of -25 ~ +60°C, and its enclosure rating is IP 65. In hot climates many systems reduce output at the top of their range, so we install out of direct afternoon sun with clearance for airflow wherever possible.

Can the S5 single-phase be installed outside?
The manufacturer lists IP 65. In Queensland we still avoid direct afternoon sun where possible, because heat can reduce performance, and we'll recommend the best spot during the site visit.
